Álvaro Checa, Co-Founder and Partner at KINSHIP, has been recognised as Professional of the Year – Tax HNWI at the Iberian Lawyer Forty Under 40 Awards 2026, held in Madrid on 24 September.
Organised by Iberian Lawyer, the Forty Under 40 Awards recognise outstanding professionals under the age of 40 across the Iberian legal market and celebrate the achievements of a new generation of lawyers in Spain and Portugal.
Álvaro Checa specialises in tax and legal advice to international families and high-net-worth individuals with interests in Spain. His practice covers tax, succession, family and private international law, with a particular focus on complex cross-border matters.
Before co-founding KINSHIP, he developed his career at leading international law firms and gained extensive experience advising private clients, families and international wealth structures.
His career has also been recognised by some of the leading publications and organisations in the sector. Chambers & Partners ranks him as a Band 3 lawyer in Private Wealth Law, while Private Client Global Elite names him among its Rising Leaders. Álvaro is also an Officer of the IBA Private Client Tax Committee, where he actively contributes to the international discussion on tax and wealth-related matters affecting private clients.
